Forman Wins CWI 2024 Connections Project Logo Contest

Published: February 29, 2024

Congratulations to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵÍø (CWI) student, Quinn Forman, winner of the College’s 2024 Connections Project Logo Contest! Forman’s logo submission was chosen out of a multitude of entries earning him the $150 cash prize.

Hearing about the contest in Introduction to 2-D Art Foundations (ARTS 105), Forman saw an opportunity to engage his passion for design. Overcoming initial hesitation, he submitted his logo, grateful for the project requirement that pushed him to participate. "I had a lot of fun during the process," he said.

His winning logo, featuring a robot arm, merges graphic design and mechanical engineering. The contest also provided valuable learning experiences including opportunities to collaborate with professionals.

An Engineering student at CWI, Forman is passionate about 3D animation and plans to employ his engineering knowledge to one day work in the movie industry. "I hope to gain a bachelor of science in animation from a leading film school and eventually work for a studio or as a freelance contractor," he said.

CWI’s affordability and wide range of programs have proven to be an ideal combination for exploring his interests. "I’ve felt immense freedom to try out different classes beyond engineering," he said. His passion for animation began in high school though concerns about job security initially led him to pursue engineering, but Forman never lost his love for animation.

Reflecting on his contest win, Forman encourages other students to embrace similar opportunities. "You never know what may happen and even if you don’t win, you will learn a ton from the experience," he said.

Save the date for this year’s Connections Project event Thursday, April 18.
