Your Advisor
CWI students are assigned an advisor based on their program of study:
- Degree-seeking students will be assigned an advisor based on their major within 3 – 5 business days of admission.
- Non-degree seeking students may request to be assigned to an advisor by emailing academicadvising@cwi.edu.
Advising appointments are available in-person, by phone, or online.

Approval from an advisor is required for students who wish to register for more than 20 credits during a 16-week session or more than 10 credits during an 8-week session.

Major Changes
Students should meet with their advisor prior to changing their major. Changing your major may impact eligibility for financial aid and veterans benefits as well as increase the time it takes to complete your degree or certificate.
If you do not know who your advisor is, or if you do not need an advising appointment and simply wish to request a major change, email academicadvising@cwi.edu. For full details, see Declaring/Changing a Major in the section of the catalog for more information.
