VII. Campus Safety
Purpose
The Board requires the President to establish a safe, healthy, and orderly campus to protect the well-being of students, employees, and the public. The President is authorized to take action necessary to protect the campus community in case of emergency.
The Board acknowledges its authority to prescribe rules and regulations relating to firearms under Idaho Code Section 18-3309. The Board further acknowledges that this authority does not extend to regulating the carrying of firearms or ammunition by persons with certain concealed carry licenses. In exercise of this authority, the Board hereby delegates to the President the responsibility to prescribe rules regarding firearms on campus, consistent with CWI’s dedication to campus safety and setting forth exceptions to or limitations upon campus regulations.
