Eligibility
The Honors Program is open to full time, degree seeking students, in their first or second semester with at least one of the following qualifications:
- 3.5 unweighted GPA
- GED score between 600 and 650
- Strong letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer
Expectations
As an Honors Program student, you will be expected to:
- Be a full-time student (12 credits).
- Complete with a C or higher.
- Connect with the Honors Program Coordinator and your advisor to create a plan for success.
- Maintain a 3.25 GPA each semester.
- Attend a CWI-sponsored event each semester.
- Check in each semester to report GPA and changes to financial aid or degree program.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted during spring semester and reviewed as they are received. With only 30 students selected to join the two-year program each fall, we encourage you to apply early to increase your chance of acceptance.
Once admitted to CWI, interested students will complete the Honors Program application which will require:
- Evidence of your current GPA, GED, or letter of recommendation.
- A list of your achievements and involvement (e.g., academic background, extra-curricular activities, community service, work history, etc.)
- Personal written or video introduction and response to one of three prompts provided on the application.
