Students, faculty, and staff came together at Idaho Central Arena to cheer on the Steelheads and celebrate a few exciting CWI moments along the way. President Gordon Jones; his daughter, Eliza; Information Technology Department Chair, Laura Hill; School of Health Dean, Aaron von Lindern; and community partners Thomas Walding of Bank of America, Patti Syme of Syme Real Estate, and former legislator Scott Syme, joined on the ice to kick off the game with a ceremonial puck drop.

The evening got even better when CWI Business student, Mackenzie Nash, was randomly selected as the recipient of the $1,000 SCORE Big Scholarship, which she plans to use toward completing her degree. Nash was awarded the scholarship by President Jones and CWI Foundation Board members on the ice during the game’s second intermission.

“As a full-time mom, full-time employee, and student, receiving the SCORE Big Scholarship gave me a much-needed sense of peace knowing part of my tuition for the upcoming semester is covered,” said Nash. “It’s a huge relief and a meaningful reminder that my hard work is being recognized.”

Throughout the game, fans stopped by the CWI booth on the concourse to grab some CWI swag, explore programs like Business Administration and Information Technology, and connect with enrollment representatives about future opportunities at the College.
