Construction Manager with CWI Roots

Published: November 15, 2024

ESI Construction Project Manager Johanna Marx is no stranger to ĢƵ (CWI). In 2015, she drove by the empty fields around the Nampa Campus Academic Building (NCAB) while attending classes. She later graduated from CWI’s business program. Today, Marx manages projects on campus for ESI, including the construction of the Health and Science Building, Agricultural Sciences Complex, and the Student Success Center.

"When I studied here, I remember what this campus meant to me,” she reflected. “Now, I’m helping build the next generation’s future. It feels like a full-circle moment.”

Johanna’s role as a project manager involves overseeing the financial aspects of large-scale construction projects. While the superintendents handle day-to-day scheduling with subcontractors, she is responsible for coordinating design changes and ensuring the project stays within budget.

She added, "Every time I drive onto this campus, I think about the impact these buildings will have on students. I get to do what I love every day, and if I can help others achieve their dreams in the process, then how lucky am I?"

With the Nampa Campus projects slated for completion in 2026, Johanna remains committed to shaping environments where future generations can learn, grow, and thrive.
