Student Exams

To schedule an exam through Testing Services at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµÍø (CWI), please follow the steps outlined below which includes testing information for current students, make-up exams, exam closures, distance proctoring, and non-CWI students. 

  • All exams must be scheduled in advance. 
  • Walk-in testing will not be permitted. 

Current Students

Current CWI students may schedule class exams through . For all other exams, please select a location below to get started: 

 

  • Exams must be scheduled 12 hours in advance.

    • Those in need of exam accommodations are asked to schedule 24 hours in advance.
    • Be sure to allow for the full exam time limit required by your instructor when scheduling.
  • If distance proctoring is needed, please review Distance Proctoring below. 

Items to Bring to Your Exam

  • Valid photo ID
    • ID must be government-issued, non-expired, and show your signature.
    • Accepted forms of ID include a driver's license, state identification card, military ID, passport, legal resident ID, or CWI student ID card.
    • Photos of your ID card will not be accepted.
  • Instructor provided/allowed materials
  • Calculator
    • TI-30XS calculators are available for use through Testing Services. 
    • Any other calculator used must be included on the approved test material list from the instructor and are subject to inspection and/or memory clearing.

Testing Policies

Make-Up Exams

To make-up an exam for a CWI class, please contact your instructor.

  • Your instructor will provide necessary information to Testing Services for your approved make-up exam. 
  • Once this information has been received by our staff, please proceed to schedule your exam. 
  • Your make-up exam may be scheduled at either Testing Services locations. 
  • There are no fees for make-up exams for CWI classes. 
  • A valid photo ID must be presented prior to testing. 

Exam Closures

Exams proctored through a third-party vendor (PearsonVue, CLEP, MOS etc.) may not be accessible at times. You may be able to schedule a third-party exam at any time through Testing Services,  however, you may not be able to test should their site be offline or down for service. In the event that your exam is unavailable, we'll be happy to help you reschedule. 

Distance Proctoring

If you live more than 50 miles from a Testing Services location, you may request proctoring services by completing a Distance Test Proctor Request Form.

  • Students living within 50 miles of a Testing Services location are not eligible for distance proctoring. 
  • Students requesting distance proctoring are responsible for setting up the exam appointment, proctoring arrangements, and any fees incurred for testing at off-campus locations.  
  • All distance proctors must be approved prior to testing. If you are unable to find a qualified proctor, contact Testing Services for suggestions. 
  • A request must be completed for each exam a minimum of two (2) business days prior to the exam. 
  • Once your request is received by Testing Services, please allow up to 48 business hours for processing. Requests received after normal business hours will be treated as being received the next business day. 
  • Students will be required to provide valid, government-issued identification in order to test. Be sure to verify accepted forms of identification with your proctor prior to your exam appointment. 

Proctor Qualifications

Proctors must meet certain qualifications. As such, exams should be taken at a certified testing center. 

  • Personal friends, family members, or co-workers are not approved proctors.
  • If a student does not live within 20 miles of a college or university testing center, Testing Services may approve one of the following proctors: 
    • private or public school superintendent, principal, department head, or counselor
    • city or county certified librarian or United States Armed Forces Educational Services Officer

Proctor Responsibilities

When proctoring a test, the following guidelines should be followed: 

  • A proctor must be willing to certify that they will follow the exam instructions and that they do not know the student personally or professionally.
  • Proctor must verify the identity of the student with a valid government issued or CWI student identification prior to every exam. Students without proper identification must be turned away.
  • Proctor will monitor the student during the duration of the exam. 
    • Ensure no unauthorized materials or websites will be accessed during the exam. If these items are discovered, the exam should be ended and Testing Services should be contacted.
    • The student must work independently and is only allowed to use materials listed under Allowed Materials.
  • Upon completion of the exam, proctor will secure exam information.
    • The student should not be in possession of the exam at any time.
    • Exam information should not be passed to another proctoring location outside your institution.
    • The proctor will return a Test Verification Form, all scratch paper, and the exam by email to cwiproctor@cwi.edu. Once approved, the form will be returned to the proctor.
