Distance Proctoring
If you live more than 50 miles from a Testing Services location, you may request proctoring services by completing a Distance Test Proctor Request Form.
- Students living within 50 miles of a Testing Services location are not eligible for distance proctoring.
- Students requesting distance proctoring are responsible for setting up the exam appointment, proctoring arrangements, and any fees incurred for testing at off-campus locations.
- All distance proctors must be approved prior to testing. If you are unable to find a qualified proctor, contact Testing Services for suggestions.
- A request must be completed for each exam a minimum of two (2) business days prior to the exam.
- Once your request is received by Testing Services, please allow up to 48 business hours for processing. Requests received after normal business hours will be treated as being received the next business day.
- Students will be required to provide valid, government-issued identification in order to test. Be sure to verify accepted forms of identification with your proctor prior to your exam appointment.
Proctor Qualifications
Proctors must meet certain qualifications. As such, exams should be taken at a certified testing center.
- Personal friends, family members, or co-workers are not approved proctors.
- If a student does not live within 20 miles of a college or university testing center, Testing Services may approve one of the following proctors:
- private or public school superintendent, principal, department head, or counselor
- city or county certified librarian or United States Armed Forces Educational Services Officer

- The student must work independently and is only allowed to use materials listed under Allowed Materials.
- Upon completion of the exam, proctor will secure exam information.
- The student should not be in possession of the exam at any time.
- Exam information should not be passed to another proctoring location outside your institution.
