Graduation Rates

IPEDS 150% Graduation Rate captures the percentage of the Graduation Rate Student Cohort that completed their program within 150% of normal time to completion.

IPEDS 150% Transfer-Out Rate captures the percentage of the Graduation Rate Student Cohort that transferred to another institution within 150% of normal time to completion.

IPEDS 150% Still Enrolled Rate captures the percentage of the Graduation Rate Student Cohort that were still enrolled at 150% of normal time to completion.

Example: A student entering CWI in Fall 2021 as a full-time, first-time, degree/certificate-seeking student in a two-year associate degree program is captured in the 150% Graduation Rate if they completed their program before Fall 2024. This student is captured in the 150% Transfer-Out Rate if they transferred to another institution before Fall 2024. Finally, this student is included in the 150% Still Enrolled Rate if they are still enrolled as of Fall 2024.

The data below shows the IPEDS 150% Graduation Rate, IPEDS 150% Transfer-Out Rate, and 150% IPEDS Still Enrolled Rate (as reported to IPEDS in the latest Graduation Rate survey) for the Fall 2021 Graduation Rate Student Cohort, which includes all full-time, first-time, degree/certificate-seeking students that entered CWI in the Fall of 2021.

  • Institutional research standards typically do not allow for headcounts less than five to be published. Because this data is available on IPEDS public domain, low headcounts are published here.
  • These rates are not representative of the entire CWI student population and do not include part-time, continuing, transfer-in, non-degree seeking, Workforce Development, or Adult Education students.

Persistence & Retention Rates

Graduation Rate Student Cohorts are also used to track other CWI student outcomes, such as persistence and retention.

Persistence Rate measures the percentage of the Graduation Rate Student Cohort that were still enrolled during the spring term following their first fall term. (Note: Persistence is an internally defined measure.)

IPEDS Retention Rate measures the percentage of the Graduation Rate Student Cohort that were still enrolled or had earned a credential by the Fall term following their first Fall term (Note: IPEDS collects Retention Rate data in the Fall Enrollment Survey; however, the data collected is not disaggregated by Gender, Race/Ethnicity, and Pell Grant Status, as reported on this page.)

Example: A full-time, first-time, degree/certificate-seeking student that entered in Fall 2023 is captured in the Persistence Rate if they enrolled in Spring 2024. A full-time, first-time, degree/certificate-seeking student that entered in Fall 2023 is captured in the Retention Rate if they enrolled in or had earned a credential by Fall 2024.

Displayed below are the Persistence and Retention rates for the Fall 2023 Graduation Rate Student Cohort, which includes all full-time, first-time, degree/certificate-seeking students that entered CWI in Fall 2023.
