A healthcare executive and community leader, David Bishop brings more than 30 years of experience in clinical leadership, nonprofit service, and regional workforce development to the role. His extensive background includes senior positions such as Chief Operating Officer at St. Luke’s Boise, CEO of the Idaho Urologic Institute, and Surgery Center of Idaho, as well as critical work with the Idaho Army National Guard and hospital service line leadership at St. Luke’s Health System.
Long-recognized for a relationship-based and servant-leadership style, Bishop is known for championing both team development and patient-centered care. He played a key role as part of St. Luke’s cardiac service line that earned 10 consecutive Watson Truven Top 50 national cardiovascular hospital awards from 2008 to 2018.
Beyond healthcare, Bishop is a well-known community advocate. He has served or volunteered with organizations such as Turn-Key Medical, Faith & Humanity Medical Missions, the South Meridian YMCA Major Gifts Committee, Boise Centennial and Meridian Rotary Clubs, as well as St. Luke’s Children’s Advisory Board and Kid for a Night Committee. His commitment also stretches internationally, having helped found a nonprofit providing humanitarian medical relief in Honduras.
Bishop holds both a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies and a Master of Health Sciences with an emphasis in health policy from Boise State University. He has previously served in advisory roles with Boise State University and CWI, lending his expertise to help transition Certified Nursing Assistant and Licensed Practical Nurse programs to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµÍø.
David and his wife Stephanie are parents of three adult children. In his free time, David enjoys restoring classic cars, downhill skiing, whitewater rafting, and traveling.
