Grants are available through the Department of Education and awarded to students based on financial need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (). Grants do not typically need to be repaid.
Three types of federal grants are available:
Scholarships are awarded based on diverse criteria such as GPA, program of study, cohort status, first-generation student status, or demonstrated financial need. Best of all, scholarships from CWI, CWI Foundation, State of Idaho, and external sources typically do not require repayment.

Work-study jobs allow you to get a head start on your future success while earning money to pay for your education. Part-time, hourly work-study positions on campus and in the community are not only a financial benefit but can help you gain valuable work experience and develop skills to help you throughout your college experience and beyond!
Loans are money that you or your parents borrow and repay with interest. Federal student loans can be offered at lower interest rates with various repayment terms. Some loans require you to demonstrate your financial need by completing the FAFSA, while others do not.
