9475 Student Aid Index

Your Student Aid Index (SAI) is a number ranging from -1,500 to 999,999. It is calculated based on the information you provide on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and takes into account things such as your income, assets, number of people in your household, etc. for the academic year.

Where your SAI falls within the range helps us to determine what level of financial support you might need. For example, if you have a low (or negative) SAI, it is more likely you may qualify for need-based aid like the Pell Grant because your financial need is higher.

Your SAI is not an actual dollar amount that your family is expected to provide, and it is not the amount of aid you will receive. Rather, we use your SAI to help us create your aid offer.

Follow these steps to find your SAI:

  1. Log in to  using your account username and password.
  2. Select your processed FAFSA submission.
  3. Select View FAFSA Submission Summary.
  4. Select the Eligibility Overview tab.
